Amazon.com Product Description Embrace a new way of thinking with this set of five eco-friendly reusable polyester shopping bags. These colorful floral-patterned designer bags are durable, lightweight, and waterproof, and come rolled up in an easy tote. The snap-close storage tote is small enough to stash in a glove compartment or a medium to large handbag, so it's always handy. Whip out a new bag every time you need one, and forego those wasteful plastic and paper sacks. Every time you shop, you'll be cutting back on clutter, and doing so with eye-catching style.
From the Manufacturer

| Dubbed the best value reusable bag on the market by the Wall Street Journal, and seen carried by the likes of Cameron Diaz and Kyra Sedgwick, Envirosax have revolutionized shopping bags with the perfect combination of eco-friendliness, style, and practicality. Envirosax, the original reusable designer shopping bags, are a funky and practical way to do your part to help the environment by reducing the ecological impact of single-use plastic bag waste whilst looking stylish at the same time. A single Envirosax rolls up to be about the size of a piece of sushi and weighs only 1.4oz (about 40g). Singularly or in a pouch the bags are small enough and light enough to fit easily in your glove box, pocket or purse, so forgetting your green bags won’t be a problem anymore. The graphic series bags roll out to be 19.5” by 16.5” (49.5cm by 41.9cm), and can safely hold about 44lbs (20kg) thanks to the strong polyester fabric and reinforced seams. The bags are waterproof, and the eco-friendly inks used on the bags (in a range of rich solid colors and attractive patterns) won’t run when the bag is washed. Envirosax bags are a great alternative to accepting plastic grocery bags whenever you go to the shop. The less plastic bags you use, the less there are to be found in the stomachs of sea turtles, wrapped around the heads of seabirds, or clogging drains and causing flooding. Did you know that due to the chemical nature of standard plastic grocery bags they never decompose? Did you also know that a single Envirosax bag can hold 2 of these grocery bags worth of goods, and so could save the environment from hundreds or even thousands of plastic bags every year. Belinda and Mark David-Tooze, a couple committed to sustainable living and minimizing human environmental impacts, founded Envirosax in 2004. This commitment is evident in their own lifestyle, as well as their clever bag design. The David-Toozes live off the grid, using photovoltaic cells for their electricity needs, water collected from rain-tanks, and they grow their own organic fruit and vegetables on their rainforest property. Proceeds from Envirosax are used to support conservation groups such as the Australian Marine Conservation Society, the Surfrider Foundation and the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand. |

Environmentally Correct, comparison to Chico Bags (R) August 3, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
OK, this review comes from Seattle, the city which just voted to tax those annoying and ubiquitous plastic shopping bags that are an eyesore and an environmental hazard. Last year, I bought 5 Chico Bags (another brand name) so that I would have a small bag or two always with me or in the car. With me, that means the two in my day pack (I either ride my scooter or take the bus to and from work) or in the car (we have a little xB for when we have to drive somewhere). The Chico Bags were the best idea for re-usable bags until I saw these Envirosax. Nothing wrong with the Chico product at all, but wow:
The Envirosax have take functionality and space to a whole new level. The Chico bags have a little pouch on them and can be stuffed into this little pouch and a small caribiner is attached so you can hang the bag on your daypack or really anything else when it isn't being used. Going through the checkout with the Chico bags in their little ball formation is not a good idea, it takes a while to get them undone and open. By that time, the bagger has usually gotten the plastic bags out and the groceries rolling in. However, the Envirosax has a built in snap arrangement like on your umbrella, which you secure after rolling up this bag. Undo the snap, flick the bag and it's open and ready instantly. Impressive. Then the capacity of this Envirosax bag, is (to my best quick visual guess) at least half again as large as the Chico. Of course the extra capacity will also mean extra weight, however the Envirosax has a bit wider handle set, and it feels more substantial compared to the Chico.
As far as visual aesthetics, the color and print choices of the Envirosax is head and shoulders above the solid color availability of the Chico brand. Additionally, there are organic hemp and linen choices available at the Envirosax website. Hint: browse there, but shop at Amazon for a price difference of only a nickel but you get your better shipping choices here.
So, I'll use my Chico bags but they are happily supplemented (and eventually supplanted) by these refreshing and lively choices from Envirosax.
The sets of five available from Envirosax will be appearing at a lot of family birthdays this year!
The best August 19, 2008 These are LIGHT-WEIGHT INCREDIBLY STRONG bags. They wash well, (smashed strawberries), refold and roll-up easily. When the check-out clerk asks "paper or plastic"? I answer "I brought my own" and hand over the pouch. I always get the response that the bags are neat, cool, or handy. The first set I ordered seem pricy but after using them for 6 months I am buying more as gifts. They are only a great value if they are used and these are getting used and dont show the wear.
Love them August 31, 2008 I've had these sacks for a month or so now and use them all the time. They work great for groceries and are holding up to my family of 5 shopping trips. I love how they fold up compactly and I can carry them in my purse. If you are trying to go green and stop using all of those plastic grocery sacks, these are a must have.
What's not to love? September 11, 2008 These bags are wonderful! I received a set as a gift and have been using them for six months. At the grocery store, they always bring out comments like "wow" and "neat" from the baggers and questions about where I got them. They are big, so they can be over stuffed, but that is the only thing about them that could be criticized. They wash easily. The best thing is the way they easily fold, roll up, snap to hold and store in a small bag of their own to stay in the car, available for the next shopping trip. So much easier to carry than bulky canvas or plastic totes. This Christmas, everyone on my list will get a set.
Love 'em!! October 28, 2008 I bought these bags last summer from a different source, paid a ton more for shipping but still love them. The pouch keeps them together and ready to go- I can grab them from the back of my car and put them in my purse unlike some of the big square reuseables. They hold a ton and sometimes get pretty heavy but I prefer that over twice as many plastic bags with 2 items in them. I get compliments on them every time I use them from people who like the style and ease of use both for me and the bagger!
